2017 NFL Draft: Picks go smooth and “easy” for Miami Dolphins
DAVIE Pretty much everything about this Dolphins’ draft class is normal and sensible, and that’s a nice departure for an organization that’s had some bizarre picks over the past decade or so. In their second NFL Draft together, Miami’s power trio of general manager Chris Grier, vice president Mike Tannenbaum and coach Adam Gase put together a well-reasoned collection of seven players that all look like logical fits on the current roster. More than anything else, the Dolphins were self-aware ..

Election 2017: a Miami Game of Thrones
In Miami, the mayor’s son is campaigning for a City Commission seat against a county commissioner’s wife and a former mayor who happens to be the brother of the city commissioner leaving the post. Meanwhile, the man who would be the new mayor of the city is the son of a previous mayor later elected to the County Commission after it was vacated by a politician who became county mayor — a position successfully defended last year against the daughter of the mayor of Miami. Got all that? It’s confu..

'It's not impossible:' Once homeless student graduates from Miami ...
The day Enrique Sepulveda filled out his application to Miami Dade College, he had to think hard about what to write down for his home address. For many others, that would be a simple answer. But for Sepulveda, 19 in the spring of 2015, that was a difficult question. Should he provide his girlfriend’s address, his old home address or the address of the abandoned home where he was squatting? He had been living in a foreclosed home in Miami for two years, since his mother threw him and his sister..

Hyperloop's Orlando-Miami idea faces big challenges
The idea might sound like something out of a sci-fi flick. An electric-powered train encased in a tube first envisioned by Elon Musk is being developed by a company called Hyperloop USA. It could take you to Miami from Orlando in 26 minutes — traveling at more than 750 mph. But before that happens, some transportation experts have a message: Hit the brakes.“You can’t just slap some pipes together and assume they will work,” said Marc Thompson, a former engineering professor who in 2013 came on a..
